Immerse yourself in the virtual world with a pair of virtual reality glasses or try out the interactive display case, which allows you to control the exhibits yourself by touching the multitouch surface. Garamantis has developed a virtual reality application especially for the EUREF campus that allows you to virtually climb the gasometer – the landmark of the EUREF campus.

Inno2Grid

Smart Energy Systems • E-Mobility • Smart Grid

Inno2Grid creates sustainable mobility solutions and a future-proof energy supply for municipalities, districts, mobility providers, energy providers, companies and fleet operators. The zeemobase (zero emission energy and mobility base) is a place where mobility and energy converge and are networked both physically and digitally. Electricity is generated from renewable energy sources, stored locally and converted into mobility. Technically, the zeemobase is a micro smart grid that distributes energy as efficiently as possible. In addition, it is also used by Inno2Grid shareholders and partners as a real-world laboratory and platform for collaborative innovation projects .

encore | DB

Energy Storage • Second Life Battery •  E-Mobility

encore | DB gives used batteries from electric mobility a second life as energy storage devices, thus promoting the circular economy and supporting the energy transition at the same time.

The idea of reusing used batteries was developed into a business model in DB’s internal start-up program, DB Intrapreneurs, which found a home at DB Bahnbau Gruppe in September 2021. The corporate start-up orchestrates the entire process from sourcing the batteries to manufacturing the battery storage systems.

The first prototype of the Second Life battery storage system was installed on the grounds of the EUREF campus in June 2022. The prototype offers a usable capacity of 72 kWh to support “time shifting” – the storage of solar power for delayed use – and other use cases on the EUREF campus.

Innos GmbH

Consulting • Networking •  E-Mobility

innos is the invisible engine behind numerous major innovations in the field of energy and mobility. While others work on individual products, innos builds bridges between companies that would otherwise not cooperate with each other, thus opening up completely new markets.

innos plays a key role in networking companies that pursue common innovation goals and today more than 300 companies are working together on new standards for charging infrastructure – from large energy suppliers to innovative start-ups. Mobility2Grid

E-Mobility • Distributed Energy Generation • Smart City

The core idea of the research campus is the integration of commercial and private electric road vehicles into decentralized energy networks. In this context, urban district development must contribute to the realization of the energy and transport transition. The aim is to realize the supply of electricity, heat and transport in an affordable and secure manner and based entirely on renewable energies with the help of new technical options and with the participation of civil society. The EUREF-Campus in Berlin serves as a test and reference site to describe the parameters of a decentralized supply industry for sustainable urban development. In six thematic areas, new fields of technology and innovative business models are being developed, and research is being conducted into public acceptance and the promotion of young talent.
